Volunteer


The Elizabeth Fry Society of Cape Breton would like to extent our appreciation and thank you in advance for your interest to volunteer within our organization.


The Elizabeth Fry Society of Cape Breton offers full training for volunteers in the area of:

  • Office Administration: Training in this position will include; telephone duties; reception; photocopying and computer/internet applications
  • Case Management: Volunteers will be informed of, and become familiar with, other community agencies and their mandates in order to assist with referrals for our clientele. We would also offer training in maintaining and compiling statistics on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Court Worker Program: Staff and volunteers attend provincial court on a daily basis to provide information and support to women in conflict with the law. Volunteers would take part in a certification and training program in court support, advocacy and information.
  • Special Needs: Volunteers will assist clientele who find themselves in need of housing, groceries, financial aid etc.
  • Programming: Volunteers will be trained in program facilitation to co-facilitate Elizabeth Fry Programming.
